SSD RP (Topical) is a topical antimicrobial cream containing Silver Sulfadiazine used to prevent and treat infections in second- and third-degree burns and other skin wounds.

Causes or Mechanism

Silver sulfadiazine disrupts bacterial cell walls and interferes with DNA and protein synthesis; silver ions provide broad antimicrobial effects.

  • Prevention and treatment of burn wound infections.
